The Comedy Workshop – NEW

Interview Required. This workshop is limited to only 8 participants maximum.
Are you developing a solo performance, a stand-up set, or your comedy *something*? This course is designed for you. Led by Comedy Division Director Matt Gehring, this rigorous eight-week fall program provides writer/performers with the dedicated space and structure to cultivate their unique comedic voices. Each week, participants will have the opportunity to present their material in a collaborative workshop setting.
This curriculum emphasizes constructive feedback, professional accountability, and development to help you achieve your specific creative goals in comedy. Matt Gehring has worked with comedians spanning runs Off-Broadway, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, TV pilots, short films, and sketch comedy/improv. While targeted assignments will be provided to generate new material, the course is entirely bespoke with a flexible structure that allows you to focus your time as you choose. Whether you are shaping a complete script or refining a work in progress, The Comedy Workshop offers the support necessary to elevate your craft.
How to Apply for Part-Time Workshops:
1. New applicants should first submit an online application. Once we receive your application we will contact you to schedule your entrance interview appointment.
