Melanie Liebetrau

• Stage Combat

Melanie is an actor and movement professional that specializes in fight choreography, intimacy direction, and teaching stage combat. She has staffed several stage combat workshops around the country, and has worked at well-renowned institutions such as: Columbia University, The Strasberg Institute, Pace University, and more. She holds a BFA in acting from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, and is a graduate of the Stella Adler Studio 3-Year Conservatory program. She has studied stage combat for over a decade through the Society of American Fight Directors, and has an extensive background in martial arts. She was also the co-instructor of the studio’s stage combat courses for the past several years under the tutelage of Broadway Fight Director J. Steven White. Her commitment to safe and engaging storytelling is what leads her teaching and inspires her continuing education in this profession.
