Lisa Wolpe

Lisa Wolpe is an actress, writer, director and producer. She has performed at PlayMakers Rep, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Utah Shakespeare Festival, TheaterWorks, Orlando Shakespeare Theater, Berkeley Repertory Company, UConn, Bremen Shakespeare, Prague Shakespeare, and more. An expert in Shakespeare, and in cross-gender performance, she has directed at California Shakespeare, Colorado Shakespeare, Sedona Shakespeare, Shakespeare & Company, NY Classical, Prague Shakespeare Company, and many universities. She founded the all-female, multi-cultural Los Angeles Women’s Shakespeare Company in 1993, and produced, directed, and performed in many iconic all-female productions. Favorite roles: Hamlet, Richard III, Angelo, Leontes, Romeo, Shylock, and Iago. Her hit solo “Shakespeare and the Alchemy of Gender” directed by Laurie Woolery, has toured internationally. Teaching includes RADA, LAMDA, NYU, USC, UCLA, BU, University of Colorado, DePaul, Cal Poly, UC Merced, University of Georgia, UNC, University of Nevada, University of Arizona, UC Denver, and dozens of other universities across the nation. She is an accomplished producer of events and projects including industrials, commercials, feature films, and dozens of theater projects.
