Avery Glymph

  • Shakespeare

Originally from Washington, D.C., Mr. Glymph is a New York based actor who received his BFA from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, under legendary director Gerald Freedman as Dean, and an MFA from the George Washington University’s Academy for Classical Acting, through the Shakespeare Theatre Company.

Mr. Glymph’s New York credits include: The Skin of Our Teeth with Lincoln Center Theater and the Public Theater’s production of The Tempest, both on Broadway. Other New York credits include The Public Theater/NY Shakespeare Festival, Roundabout Theatre Company, The Working Theater, New Georges, and The Drama Dept.

Regional credits include leading roles with: City Theater Company, Roundhouse Theatre, Syracuse Stage, Shakespeare Theater Company, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Baltimore Center Stage, Northern Stage, Actors Theater of Louisville, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Cleveland Playhouse, PlayMakers Rep, TheaterWorks Hartford, The Old Globe, Contemporary American Theatre Festival, Crossroads Theater Company (Tony Award Season), and Cape Fear Regional Theatre.

Mr. Glymph’s numerous Film and Television Credits include Guest Star and Co-Starring roles on: Search Party, Bull, She’s Gotta Have It, Madam Secretary, Law and Order (Original and C.I.), He Got Game, and many more.

As a director, Avery has lead productions of As You Like It at Montclair State University and Lydia Diamond’s Stick Fly at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.

Mr. Glymph has been a visiting instructor with the Duke University Department of Theater Studies, and the UNCSA Summer Session.

Ave enjoys the largest roller coaster you can find, 90’s hip hop (along with some Classical music), and a beautifully marbled ribeye.
