Housing costs are not included in the price for tuition. Housing is the responsibility of the student. However, the Studio will do everything it can to assist in helping students find housing. Below are some sources where our students have successfully found housing. (Please note that these sources are not controlled by AOA and we cannot vouch for all information posted. Please do your own research whenever and wherever possible, and never send money to anyone you don’t know or haven’t met before discussing the rental. Be diligent.)
Subleasing an Apartment
For students enrolling in a Summer Intensive or other program with a shorter duration than our Professional Conservatory, a sublet opportunity is usually the best fit. This is the perfect option for people who need a place to stay for weeks as opposed to 6 months or a year. Intensive students should not consider leasing an apartment unless they plan on staying in Los Angeles after the program is done. Leasing an apartment requires furnishing it, setting up electrical/water, gas and internet, and other time-consuming expenses – not a viable option for those only in LA for a short program.
